Drinking, drug, and gambling problems can be very gradual and other people may not notice the side effects that generally happen when a person becomes addicted. If you want to find a rehab center to speak to your child's school for prevention purposes, many will have a speaker come out and talk to teens about the dangers of drug use. Recovery centers can also teach parents what they can look for in their youth to see if they have an addiction. If they withdrawal from activities they used to enjoy or develop depression are just a couple of signs to look for. A family will often have to come together and help each other and the person who is addicted and give support. Smoking marijuana or drinking alcohol can often lead to more dangerous drugs, such as heroin and cocaine. Consumption of drugs and alcohol or even becoming addicted to gambling can lead to other health problems. Prevention is important to keep children from experimenting with drugs.
